Exciting workshop at Galerie Belvedere

06:30 PM

The AMBAVis project team was invited by the Galerie Belvedere to get an in-depth impression about its exhibits and handling sessions for blind and visually impaired people. On the 12th of December 2014 the project partners had the chance to get to know the Belvedere and its exhibits in a different way: They experienced them by touching and smelling while an art historian explained their meaning.
A very impressive exhibit is the 3D model of the palace Upper Belvedere which was produced especially for blind and visually impaired visitors and can be seen in the picture below.

Another interesting and fruitful discussion was about the famous painting “the kiss” of Gustav Klimt regarding specific aspects that have to be taken into account when producing a tactile model – from the perspective of the blind and visually impaired people as well as from an art-historical point of view.

Some participants are exploring the 3D model of the palace Upper Belvedere being the main exhibition venue
