We will provide an analysis of the economic effects of tactile models for blind and visually impaired people in museums. These effects will be measured in terms of gross value added and employment arising in the EU-28. Foreign trade flows and the according impacts will be analysed over the EU-28. Therefore a multi-regional-input-output-analysis will be used, allowing to address the entire EU-28-area as a whole and not merely single countries. Hence, even if a country (museums) does not host exhibits of tactile models for blind and visually impaired people, its economy can benefit from providing intermediate goods and services to companies which are involved in this activity.
Gross value added and employment will be reported in the form of direct and indirect effects and will be calculated on a country-by-country as well as activity-by-activity basis. Thus we will be able to show which sectors in which countries benefit from exhibits and services for blind and visually impaired people in the analysed Museums.
