Conference for blind and visually impaired people in Bratislava

From the 9th until 11th of december 2014 the Slovak Union of Blind and Partially Sighted organized a conference in Bratislava with the theme: Qualified access to cultural institutions and events for people with visual impairments, with the aim to foster their social inclusion and awareness. The conference was organized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture SK and under the auspices of the Minister of Culture Marek Maďarič. On this platform non-profit organization Trnka presented their project “Touch the History” (teaching humanities and thus raising the mental development of children in all schools with visually impaired children in Slovakia). As the project AMBAVis was already in phase of the first working meeting of 11th of december 2014 and the ideas for the project are largely compatible with the presented topic Mr. Trnka also briefly introduce the project AMBAVis to the audience. The conference was attended by about 30 participants mainly staff of museums and galleries from all over Slovakia. With practical examples of 3D models – that were a part of the presented project – Mr. Trnka could mentioned the purpose and need of AMBAVis, which could might also act as a practical continuation of the project “Touch the History”.
