Karol Trnka presents AMBAVis at TV JOJ

Karol Trnka, a member of the AMBAVis partnership, recently was a guest at the Slovakian TV JOJ where he talked about the projects “Touch the History” as well as AMBAVis. Both projects aim at providing better access to culture and history for blind and visually impaired people through the use of technical devices and 3D technology.

“Touching the Prado”

The Madrid based Prado currently features an exhibition with tactile reproductions of the most characteristic paintings of the museum. The tactile models on display have been produced using a quite new relief printing technique called “Didù”: A print is created using a special ink, whereby a chemical process boosts the otherwise flat reproduction into 3D tactile model.

(Deutsch) Kunst für blinde Menschen im Würzburger Museum am Dom

Studenten der Uni Würzburg haben mit einem 3D-Drucker Tastmodelle von Gemälden und Skulpturen entwickelt, die nunmehr im Würzburger Museum am Dom zugänglich sind. Zu den Modellen, die mit den Händen ausführlich entdeckt werden können, zählen etwa die “Pietà” von Käthe Kollwitz und der “Heilige Jakobus” von Tilman Riemenschneider.
